Even though many states have already approved the use of cannabis as a treatment for the conditoin of PTSD, our goal is to both fine tune our approach to provide better treatment as well as establish the PSIP protocol as an accepted standard of practice in the eyes of state licensing boards.

Therapists Retreat

Answer

This final point is perhaps the most significant and most intangible benefit of being part of a larger practice community. We know from years of training students and professional therapists that the most difficult part is not the theory or didactic components of the model. The most difficult piece is that this work is highly experiential and very involving of the therapist’s own process. Our students grasp the theory well enough, they bump up against their limits as therapists when they discover their own unworked material. Our students frequently discover they have unworked trauma or that their attachment style is not as secure as they had thought. We cannot emphasize this strongly enough: the deeper you are able to go with your clients, the deeper you are called to go within yourself. The gift and pitfall of psychedelic psychotherapy is how thorough it can be. The depth of your client’s process will necessitate your own clearing. Your client’s process will ask for corrective developmental experiences such as touch, sustained eye contact and secure bonding with you, or they may ask you to hold a sense of perpetration by projecting onto you. Regardless of what is being asked, your internal flexibility, your own childhood history and capacity for love will be fully engaged and frequently challenged in this process. We are not suggesting that therapists need to come into this being thoroughly processed, in fact we fully expect the opposite. This is normal and something we find not only with our students but our staff in our clinics. This reality has to be held and worked with over time. There is no escaping it, there are no shortcuts around it. We fundamentally believe that healing is a community wide effort. You will discover a great deal about your own structure and get some significant work done through the PSI training given that well over 50% of the course is experiential in nature and we prescribe trades between cohort members. We are also dedicated to supporting your work through the supervision component as well with ongoing retreats both within and outside of the US. We find there is no greater indicator of a therapist’s longevity, growth and success in this work than their willingness to engage their own process.

Psilocybin Referral

Answer

PSI maintains clinic in Amsterdam to provide cannabis & psilocybin assisted therapy for individuals looking to treat mental health conditions. This program is staffed by PSI clinicians who are licensed to practice in the US. This program is also open to clinicians who have trained with us and are ready to deepen their personal work beyond what cannabis or ketamine assisted therapy can provide. Question 4

Medical Provider

Answer

Although we are focusing on cannabis which does not require medical guidance in recreational states, or requires easily obtainable medical approval in medicinally legal states, we are also developing relationships with medical providers in your state who you can collaborate with when you want to incorporate ketamine psychotherpay into your practice. These providers will already understand the therapeutic process your mutual patients will be undertaking.

Question 5

Client Support Materials

Your clients will have access to the PSI client portal where we will continually develop educational and support materials useful for clients active in treatment. The somatic psychedelic therapy process is so unique that your clients will not have referrence points from past therapy or friends that can easily relate to what they are going through. Our goal is to provide support materials to help normalize the phases and non-ordinary state experiences they will be moving through during your work with them.

Marketing & Referrals

Support your local marketing efforts through the use of our high quality educational and marketing materials on your own website. Get referrals generated by our local and national outreach efforts focused on providing educational content to therapy consumers. We have a big mission that anyone who seeks high quality psychedelic treatment has access to it, and as such, we are committed to getting the word out. We continually produce educational videos, testimonials, live webinars, social media, podcast interviews, article publication, conference presentations as well as develop partnerships with affiliate organizations to provide useful content regarding psychedelic therapy. We find that the more well informed someone is about mental health and what the psychedelic psychotherapy process is about, the more likely it is they will want to work with us. Hence, our goal is high quality, informative, transparency.
