Jill Sweeny

Jill is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with an MSW from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, specializing in healing unresolved trauma from negative experiences, particularly relational and attachment wounds.

She helps clients navigate mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, which often stem from life-altering events. Jill creates space for emotional processing, reducing suffering, and enhancing clarity about life's priorities.

Her approach is person-centered and highly relational, emphasizing client-identified goals, deep trust, and connection. As a former clinician at Minnesota Alternatives, a leader in the Harm Reduction movement, she focused on substance use and trauma interventions.

At Expanse MN since November 2021, Jill specializes in trauma care using Psychedelic Somatic Interactive Psychotherapy (PSIP). She is also trained in EMDR, CBT and DBT. Jill completed PSIP training in October 2021 has shadowed two leader trainings, and co-led a training session in Denver in March 2023. She is passionate about "healing the healers," recognizing the critical need for clinicians to maintain their own well-being for effective, attuned, and intuitive trauma work.
